For some of us, it's a fine line between 'adore' and 'abhor'
The weird dualities of our brains

Crowd participation time! But virtually, and with zero pressure, so hopefully you’re not feeling The Ick right now.
OK, so here’s my list of weirdly similar things that prompt me to have completely opposite reactions:
Good: Being noticed
Bad: Being perceived
Good: Being amongst still crowds of people
Bad: Being amongst moving crowds of people
Good: Butterflies
Bad: Moths
Good: Writing
Bad: Writing by hand
Good: Hand dryers off
Bad: Hand dryers on
Good: Loud music
Bad: Loud noises
Good: Spooky films
Bad: Scary films
Good: Two alcoholic drinks
Bad: Three alcoholic drinks
Good: Proper puns
Bad: Wordplay that purports to be a pun (I could write a thesis on this)
Good: Video podcasts
Bad: Audio-only podcasts
Good: Hitting drums with incredible coordination
Bad: Doing literally anything else with any kind of coordination whatsoever
So, Brain Clubbers, I’d love you to join me in naming your own similar things that provoke completely contrasting reactions. Comment away!

I’ve got a few:
Good: Photoshoots
Bad: Seflies
Good: Recording / recording my singing
Bad: Live performances / live singing
Good: Tomato sauces
Bad: Raw tomatoes
Good: Writing a revision
Bad: Writing a draft--a first one at that
I could go on 😂
I’m not sure I have this - but I am going to ponder on it. I have some questions though. What is the difference between being noticed and being perceived? Is it not just semantics? And also, do you actually not like the wordplay, or do you just object to it being called something it is not? (This would be my issue!)
